Cranial Sacral Therapy is a gentle technique used to detect and correct imbalances in the Cranial Sacral System. A healthy Cranial Sacral System is a resilient one! Responsible for keeping us well, whether it is our physical health or our emotional stability. This type of therapy works with listening to and strengthening one’s Cranial Sacral System, improving the function of the Central Nervous System, CNS, by bringing awareness back to the system and maintaining optimal autonomic flexibility. It works on the soft tissues, fluids, and energy systems connected with the flow of cerebral-spinal fluid (which surrounds and flushes the brain and spinal cord) from the head via the spinal cord down to the sacrum at the base of the spine.

Our cranial sutures are designed to move with the rhythmic ebb and flow of the cerebral spinal fluid. This rhythm is referred to as the “Breath of Life”, a series of subtle rhythms that may be palpated in the body. Dr. William Sutherland states that these rhythms “are expressions of health that carry an essential ordering principle for both body and mind.”

Receiving Cranial Sacral Therapy feel like you are floating in thin air. It involves a gentle hand’s on method of “listening”, evaluating and enhancing the function of the Cranial Sacral System.
