Steamboat Springs Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage at Steamboat Springs Sports Massage Therapy by Rhythmic Touch
Deep Tissue Massage is a corrective and therapeutic technique used to eliminate or reduce discomfort and pain in the body. This technique typically goes very deep into the layers of tissue reliving adhesions and scarring of muscles that cause chronic patterns of tension and limited range of motion.
Although the work is very deep it can also be profoundly relaxing. Treatment will include softening of an area followed by slow intense sustained pressure. This work will often help release toxins of the physical and emotional kind that can stay deep within your muscle tissue for a very long time. For this reason it is important to drink a lot of water following the massage to help eliminate these toxins from the body.
Deep Tissue Massage usually focuses on more specific areas and may cause some soreness during or right after the massage. This is similar to what your body experiences following a good workout. After a day or two the body has come back into balance and you feel realigned and restored, on your way to better body health.

To assist in eliminating soreness following a Deep Tissue Massage, take a hot Epsom Salt bath the evening after your session for 15 to 20 minutes followed by gentle stretching. Also, be sure to keep your body well hydrated, by drinking adequate water for your body weight, the day before, of and after your massage.
