Steamboat Springs Sports Massage:

Steamboat Springs Sports Massage Therapy was designed with athletes in mind, but is great for anyone with chronic pain, range of motion issues or injury.

The benefits include improved range of motion and flexibility, stimulating circulation of blood and lymph fluids, decreased recovery time from competition and training, injury prevention, increased physical awareness and increased muscular efficiency. The psychological and physiological benefits of massage make it ideal to include in a total conditioning sports program.

A skilled therapist can detect minor imbalances at an early stage that can be addressed before progressing into a larger problem such as strain, sprain or tears.  By breaking up scar tissue and adhesions with trigger point therapy, muscles are released and are free to glide they way they are designed to.  Improved circulation increases the delivery of oxygen and essential nutrients, which helps the removal of metabolic wastes and increases the body’s productivity.

Rhythmic Touch Steamboat Springs Sports Massage Therapy provides sports massage at professional sporting events throughout the rocky mountain region for athletes to prepare their bodies for optimal performance and recovery following the competition. In addition to massage the day of their event most athletes continue to work with us for regular maintenance sessions throughout their competitive season and training.

Series of Sports Massage Therapy by Rhythmic Touch:
  • Pre-Event -- a stimulating massage prior to the competition.
It is directed toward the parts of the body that will be involved in the exertion, as well as overall body balancing and light facilitated stretching. It is designed to supplement a warm-up, enhance circulation and reduce excess mental and muscle tension prior to the event.
  • Post-Event -- given to help normalize the body's tissues, in most cases within the day of the event or immediately following. This assists in reducing muscle spasms and metabolic build-up that occur with playing hard. This recovery massage will help bring the tissues to normalization and repair, as well as provide mental calming and clarity.
  • Restorative -- given during training and throughout the competitive season to allow the athlete to train harder with less injury. This includes regular maintenance, spending time on deeper specific work and stretching so that the athlete can take things to the next level.
  • Rehabilitative -- aimed at alleviating pain due to over working the muscles, potential injury and returning the body to health. This also gives the athlete time to relax, stepping away from the mental game and focusing on their body to bring things back into balance.
